Mixed Media Card Challenge ~ Harvest

Is an acorn a fruit??!!!
Although fall colors are NOT my thing, I was inspired to play along with the challenge at the Mixed Media Card Challenge #27.  This is what I came up with:
I wanted to use my new layered dies because I LOVE the grid pattern.  For the background I used a piece of watercolor paper with distress inks and water spritzes.  LOVE how the different patterns show through the squares.

Here you can see a close up of my idea of a fall harvest - water colored leaves, crackle paste, and acorns on cardboard that are heat embossed.  The seam binding was dragged through distress inks as well.

I hope you like my fall card!  I have a very special person this is going to!

Oh goodness! This is so lovely. That/those dies - wow. What an effect those little patches of yellow have peeking through the weave. I love this basket feel. Thanks so much for playing with us at the MMCC this month!
