look at the bright side ~ Precious Remembrance Blog Post

Hello Blog Friends!
I am posting today over at the Precious Remembrance site for my {Saturday Creations} post using the new PR Stamp Set called New Day.  I call my little 4x6 canvas ~ look at the bright side:
When I first saw this set, I thought how "artsy" it was and the possibilities just flooded my brain!  I thought the paintbrush stroke could be used for water or sky so that's where I started.  I stamped it as a brick pattern (alternating the stamp pattern as I went down the canvas) using permanent inks, starting with the lighter blue for the sky and the darker blue for the water.
I then added translucent embossing paste through a Prima stencil called Stain to make what looks like water splats on the entire canvas (which is sadly impossible to photograph but looks so cool in real life)!  Look at the dark blue section and maybe you can see the water spots there???  It just adds another layer of texture.

Then I added the sun's rays with molding paste I made yellow with paint through a sun stencil.  I stamped the circle stamp in orange on a piece of tissue paper with words and colored it in with a yellow marker.  After I cut it out, I adhered it as the center of the sun.

I cut out a fishing boat I photographed on a vacation in Aruba and glued it to the canvas.
To finish my little piece of "art," I die cut some clouds and stamped the FAB sentiment from this set directly onto them.  THIS could be MY motto because I tend to always look at the bright side!
I think my next project with this set will be to make a sky and grass BG, add a big flower and a FAB sentiment and make something totally different!
I had so much FUN creating this canvas!  I hope you like it!
